Computer giant Dell recently unveiled a company acquisition that further invests in the areas of cloud computing and virtualization. Dell is set to buy Wyse Technology Leadership, a company notable for industry client solutions providing integration with web and virtualized infrastructure.
Specific products by Wyse pertain to areas such as networking, storage, servers and more.
In a press release regarding the matter, Dell President of End User Computing Solutions Jeff Clarke discussed the benefits of virtualization. “Desktop virtualization can help organizations streamline IT management, improve productivity and security, and increase cost efficiency for discrete workloads or usage scenarios,” commented Clarke.
Clarke said that services from Wyse compliment his own company’s “strongest-ever device and computing solutions portfolio.”
Meanwhile, Wyse Technology CEO Tarkan Maner expressed enthusiasm regarding the upcoming acquisition, referring to “tremendous growth opportunities.” In addition to virtualization, another key piece of the acquisition involves providing users with the ability to connect to cloud resources via mobile devices.
Financial terms of the acquisition have yet to be disclosed. However, company employees were expected to further discuss the matter in an analyst call Monday morning. According to the press release, on a daily basis, Wyse accounts for more than 200 million users relying on their products and solutions.
The company’s announcement follows the unveiling of new virtualization solutions pertaining to Light and Complex IT environments by Dell on Friday. Earlier this year in February, Dell opened a cloud data center in Quincy, Washington providing clients with redundant network connectivity.
